“What’s New at the “Holler”? The Brookside cabin makeover!! Beginning Friday, November 6, Cabins of Birch Hollow’s Welcome Center will be officially moved from the Fanny Morton House into the first cabin you see when you enter Birch Hollow – our beautiful Brookside cabin with the shiny copper roof, located at 170 Birch Hollow Road! It has long been our dream to have our office here, right in Birch Hollow itself, so we are very excited to finally see this dream come true! The Welcome Center will be open from 3:00 – 6:00 PM each day to welcome our incoming cabin guests and to conveniently serve guests already enjoying their mountain getaway with us who may want to stop by the office for ideas on things to do or places to see.
Even more exciting, we are transforming the upstairs area at Brookside into a huge private luxury master suite that we will offer to couples for overnight or extended stays, with access to Brookside’s many amenities after the Welcome Center office closes at 6 PM! This type of offering of private rooms plus house-sharing is common across the country, but it’s totally new and quite unique to find this type of arrangement for deluxe cabins in the Red River Gorge area! This will serve many of our new guests wanting just a one-night stay, or those wanting to see what the area is like before booking a longer stay in a regular cabin. Former guests have told us they love the idea and plan to try it out themselves.
The new Brookside private luxury master suite with king bed, a corner jacuzzi, lovely new decor, and double sinks in the master bath, is especially suited for discriminating couples. Offered as a one-price package for $139 on weekends, $119 on week nights, and $149 on holidays, it is $30 less per night than our smallest cabins. This price includes U-Verse Internet and cleaning fee. A loft area outside the master suite has two twin beds and can be rented for a second couple or for two chidren in the same party for an additional $25, if needed.
Our manager Dale Smith lives downstairs, and guests can have as much or as little interaction with him as desired. He loves company and enjoys sharing a cup of coffee or a glass of wine around the living room fireplace or outside fire pit, but he also respects the privacy of guests who simply want a peaceful and quiet retreat at a great price. Guests booking the suite can arrive after 5 PM to get moved in and can enjoy the suite and share the rest of the cabin until late check out at 1 PM on their departure date.
