Hiking is awesome at the Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Resort Park this time of year, but did you know we have two fabulous hiking trails options right here in Birch Hollow? Our guests don’t have to leave the Hollow at all to enjoy a hike mid-way – or all the way – up the mountain on “Dale Hollow Trail”!
Both hiking trails have beautiful views of distant mountains and fabulous outcroppings of rocks, and either can lead you to one of the old stone chimneys that are the only remains of houses built over 100 years ago!
If it’s your first hike, try the Dale Hollow Trail that goes midway up the mountain, starting or ending at either Sundance or Woodsman cabin. For a challenging hike that takes you to the very peak, keep on going to the top of the mountain! Wait ’til you see the view from the mountain top!!
After an invigorating hike right in Birch Hollow, relax in the hot tub, challenge a buddy to a game of pool, watch a movie with the family, or get a fire going at the fire pit at your cabin!
